- Lead Generation: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, door-to-door canvassing, referrals, and networking.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service from initial contact through project completion.
- Roof Inspections & Estimating: Conduct thorough roof and property inspections to determine the scope of damage or needs, take pictures, and prepare detailed, accurate estimates, proposals, and bids.
- Sales Presentations & Closing: Present proposals to customers, educate them on roofing needs and material options, negotiate contracts, and close sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Insurance Claim Assistance: Work with homeowners and meet with insurance adjusters to assist in filing and following up on insurance claims and agreeing on the scope of work.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with the production, installation, and customer service teams to ensure smooth project execution and high customer satisfaction.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, sales activities, and project status within the company's CRM.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new roofing materials/technologies.
- Experience: Proven sales experience, with prior experience in roofing or construction sales being a strong asset.
- Physical Ability: Capable of carrying and climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and performing inspections outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high degree of self-motivation to generate leads and drive sales.
- Integrity: Possess a sound personal character, honesty, and integrity to represent the company well.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software and estimating software (e.g., AccuLynx), and basic computer skills.
- Logistics: A valid driver's license.
- Roofing sales representatives typically work in an outside sales capacity, traveling to different neighborhoods, homes, or businesses.
